Multi-modal artist and composer Joy Lapps and Grammy Award-winning musician, artist and educator Larnell Lewis, issue The Caribbean Christmas Mixtape Vol. 1. This is Joy’s sixth and Larnell’s fourth release as leaders. Informed by Joy and Larnell’s lived experience as first generation Afro-Caribbean Canadians, The Caribbean Christmas Mixtape Vol. 1 offers listeners an alternate soundtrack to the holiday season. From jazz-infused soca, zouk, reggae and ska, to calming lullabies, this artistic interpretation of classic Christmas songs offers something for every listener. The first single Soca Sleigh Ride is available November 1, 2024 and the entire album is set for release on November 15, 2024.
